WISDOM

ANAK-ANAK KITA

Do’a agar Tuhan member keturunan yang baik ditekankan dan dipanjatkan berulang-ulang  “Rabbi, hablil minladunka dzurriyatan thayibah”.
                1.   Jika anak hidup dalam kritik , ia belajar mengutuk.
  2.   Jika anak hidup dalam kekerasan ia belajar berkelahi
  3.   Jika anak hidup dalam pembodohan, ia belajar menjadi pemalu.
  4.   Jika anak hidup dalam rasa dipermalukan, ia belajar  terus  merasa
         bersalah.
  5.   Jika anak hidup dalam toleransi, ia belajar menjadi sabar.
  6.   Jika anak hidup dalam dorongan, ia belajar menjadi percaya diri.
  7.   JIka anak hidup dalam penghargaan, ia belajar mengapresiasi.
  8.   Jika anak hidup rasa adil, ia belajar keadilan.
  9.   Jika anak hidup rasa aman, ia belajar yakin.
10.  Jika anak  hidup dalam persetujuan, ia belajar menghargai diri
         sendiri.
Ia belajar
         mencari  cinta  diseluruh jagat.

HIKMAH

YAHUDI DAN SEPOTONG ROTI
Suatu hari Nabi Isa berjalan bersama seorang Yahudi. Isa hanya membawa sepotong roti, sementara itu si Yahudi membawa dua potong. “ Maukah kamu berbagi roti yang satu lagi denganku?” kata Isa.
Setelah menjawab  mau, si Yahudi menyesal begitu tahu Isa hanya membawa sepotong roti. Lalu diam-diam dia makan sepotong roti itu ketika Isa sedang shalat. Selesai shalat, Isa bertanya, mana roti yang satu lagi?” Si Yahudi menjawab, “wah, saya hanya bawa satu roti, kok”.
Ditengan jalan, mereka bertemu orang buta.

CULTURE

UNDERSTANDING FOREIGN CULTURE FROM SONGS
In this song Stevie Wonder mentions special days throughout the year, beginning from New Year’s day in January and ending in Christmas in December. But on the day He made a telephone call to his love was not a special day “ In fact here’s just another ordinary day,” He says.

Listen to the song and fill up the missing words in the lyrics.

I JUST CALLED TO SAY I LOVE YOU
                                    By Stevie Wonder

No New Years’ day to -----------
No chocolate covered candy heart to give away
No  first of spring
No song to ---------
In fact here’s just another ordinary -----------

No April rain
No flowers ----------
No wedding Saturday within the month of ---------
But what it is, is something true
Made up of these three ---------- that I must say to you

I just called to say ---------
I just called to say how much I care
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of --------

                          No summer’s high
                          No warm ----------
No harvest moon to light one                                                                                                                      tender ---------- night
                          No Autumn breeze
                          No falling -----------
Not even time for birds to fly to southern skies
No Libra Sun
No Halloween
No giving thanks to all the Christmas joy you bring
But what it is, though old, is so ---------
To fill your heart like no three words could ever do

There was once a young Shepherd Boy who tended his sheep at the foot
of a mountain near a dark forest.
It was rather lonely for him all day, so he thought upon a plan by which
he could get a little company and some excitement. He rushed down towards
the village calling out ‘Wolf, Wolf,’ and the villagers came out to meet him,
and some of them stopped with him for a considerable time.
This pleased the boy so much that a few days afterwards he tried
the same trick, and again the villagers came to his help.
But shortly after this a Wolf actually did come out from the forest,
and began to worry the sheep, and the boy of course cried out
‘Wolf, Wolf,’ still louder than before. But this time the villagers,
who had been fooled twice before, thought the boy was again deceiving them,
and nobody stirred to come to his help.
So the Wolf made a good meal off the boy’s flock.

Vampire Bat
A vampire bat came flapping in from the night, face all covered in fresh blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some sleep.
Pretty soon all the other bats smelt the blood and began hassling him about where he got it. He told them to piss of and let him get some sleep, but they persisted until he finally gave in.
“OK, follow me,” he said and flew out of the cave with hundreds of bats behind him. Down through a valley they went, across the river and into a huge forest.
Finally he slowed down and all the other bats were excitedly around him with their tongues hanging out for blood.
“Do you see the large oak tree over there ?” he asked. YES, YES, YES !!!!, the bats all screamed in a frenzy.
“Good”, said the first bat, “Because I did not”.

Should Ads be banned from TV programs
We are writing to complain about ads on TV. There are so many ads, especially during our favourite programs. We think they should be stopped for a number of reasons.
First, ads are a nuisance. They got on for a long time and there are so many. Sometimes these seems to be more ads than programs.
Second, ads are a bad influence on people. They try to encourage people to buy unhealthy food like beer, soft drink, candy, and chips. And they make people want things they do not really need and cannot afford.
Finally, the people who make ads have too much say in what programs people watch. This is because they want to put all their ads on popular programs, that a lot of people watch. Some programs which are not so popular got stopped because they do not attact enough ads, even though those programs may be someone’s favourite.
